NORTH ISLAND DUCK SHOT IN SOUTHLAND

PA GORE, May 12. A ringed %rey duck released near Palmerston North has been shot in the Gore district. It was secured by a party on Mr T. W. Holland’s property at Waimea during the week. This is probably the longest recorded flight by a wild duck in the Dominion.
