PUBLIC SERVICE

REPRESENTATION ISSUE TO BE DISCUSSED WITH MR NASH PA WELLINGTON, Apl. 19. Further discussions on the appointment of a representative of the Public Service Association to the Government service tribunal are to be held between the Acting Prime Minister, Mr Nash, and representatives of the association. The secretary of the Public Service Association, Mr J. Turnbull, in a statement, said that at a meeting of the executive of the committee of the association to-night it was reported that the Prime Minister had been unable to see the executive officers before he left the country. He had, however, asked representatives of the association to discuss with Mr Nash the various matters raised. Mr Turnbull said that the committee authorised the executive officers to endeavour to obtain from the Government, through Mr Nash, certain assurances which would render entry into the Government service tribunal acceptable to the association. The executive resolved that it would meet again within the next few days to receive a report and determine further action.
