“MISS NEW ZEALAND”

NO OTAGO CANDIDATE YET SELECTED ENTRY MONEY BEING RAISED No “ Miss Otago ” has yet been nominated for the Air Force Association’s “Miss New Zealand” quest for 1949 although most other centres in the Dominion have already announced their candidates. The Otago Executive of the association is reported to be “ taking active steps” to raise the necessary qualifying fee of £IOO, and when this sum is in sight the search for a candidate will be intensified. No independent organisation in Otago has yet announced any intention of nominating a candidate. Entries will close at the end of April. The preliminary judging will take place in’ May, it is understood, and the final selection of “Miss New Zealand” will be made in June.
