Attractive Air and Speedy Come From a Good Winning Family

SPORTING

In Speedy and Attractive Air the Wingatui owner and trainer D. W. Brown has two gallopers who should keep the Attractive Lady family well in the limelight for some time to come. Speedy went a good race for fourth in the Oamaru Cup and improved on this to have her first win in open company in the Gardiner Memorial Handicap on Saturday. Well placed throughout, she finished full of running and won going away. A six-year-old mare by Irish Lancer, she is from Attractive Lady, the dam of winners in Lord Nuffield, Attractive Note, The Joker, and Lady Nuffield. Attractive Air did not finish on Saturday as she did at Wingatui, but she is not likely to lose any friends because of that, and she should be prominent at one of the Easter meetings. In her recent races she has shot out of the barrier very smartly and with increasing age she should have little difficulty in winning over middle distances. She is a three-year-old by Airway from Attractive Note.
