GOLD AND DIVINING

Sir. —I quite agree with R. Fleming in regard to gold divining. I have waterdivined . for many vears. and can divine for gold, just as well, and can give a fair estimate of the depth of gold as well as water. A friend took me. out back to divine a reef, and I found it had cmy a rich spot every few chains that would be worth testing. I am told all reefs in New Zealand are patchy and broken, and unless a person is specially gifted and has studied it along with experience, it is of no use. It took me a number of years to got as far as I have now. It is quite simple to find the rich patches when one knows how.—l am, etc., John Sinclair Maheno.
