RAILWAY ELECTRIFICATION
PA AUCKLAND. Mar. 27 “In my view, the electrification of the railways will tend to safeguard the electricity supply position of Aucklanders by the release of cogl for other purposes including the existing standby steam power stations,” said the Minister of Works. Mr Semple, at Auckland on Saturday. Mr Semple was replying to Auckland criticism of his department’s plans announced by the Minister early this month.
