EXTRADITION ORDERED
AUSTRALIAN ARRESTED IN AUCKLAND FALSE PRETENCES ALLEGED PA AUCKLAND, Mar. 11. An order for the extradition to Australia of an accused charged with false pretences was made in the Magistrate’s Court by Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M. The accused was John Raymond Stewart, aged 30, a telephonist. He was charged with falsely pretending to Eleanor May Ibbotson on December 29, 1947, at Brisbane that he was capable of obtaining the lawful release on parole from the State farm in Queensland of Colin Lindsay Ibbotson, and that he required the sum of £SOO as a cash bond to ensure that Ibbotson would comply with the conditions of the parole, and of obtaining £SOO with intent to defraud. Bail was fixed at £6OO, with two sureties of £3OO. and the accused was directed to report to the Auckland police at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
