THE DOG NUISANCE
Sir, —As a Mosgiel resident and business man, I have been interested in the controversy which has recently taken place over the question of dogs in this borough. First, as a business man, I most heartily support the action of the Mayor and council in their endeavours to abate the unquestioned nuisance caused by wandering dogs in the business area. I only wish I had these so-called dog-lovers with me to clean the front of my shop each morning. Secondly, as a resident, X am unfortunate enough to have in the neighbourhood a dog that yelps day and night. This constitutes a most unpleasant annoyance, especially in the small hours of the morning. My view, and I am sure this is the view of the majority, is that if people choose to keep dogs in a borough they should ensure that such dogs should not be a nuisance or annoyance to others or a menace to health generally.—l am, etc., Business Man.
