OFFER TO CRICKETERS
ENGAGEMENT IN ENGLAND CANTERBURY PLAYERS PA CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 28. , The Canterbury cricketers, P. O’Malley and R. Hitchcock, who had intended visiting England this year, have received offers from the Warwickshire County Cricket Club. O’Malley’s offer is .for an engagement for two years and Hitchcock’s for a trial period. The offers were contained in a cablegram from a club official, but the players are awaiting a letter with details before making a decision. O’Malley, said he understood that the former residential qualification of two years was now not required, and that they would be eligible to play lor the county on arrival.
