EQUAL PAY

Sir,—So the clerical women workers are after equal pay for equal work. All power to them. The Human Rights Charter which New Zealand voted for and reviled another for not so doing, may yet come to be if there is sufficient force behind the boot. I wonder how many, men realise that when they receive more pay than a woman for the same amount of work, they are. getting it through the exploitation of that woman and taking home not only their own earnings, but part of that woman’s earnings as well, otherwise why would they make her do equal, instead of less, for her less pay. We all admit a married man requires more money, but it behoves him to see that he does not get it' at the expense of the labour of another worker, more especially when that worker is a woman—l am, etc., Don.
