Queen’s Thanks For Letter of Sympathy

As chairwoman of the Women’s Dominion Conference of the New Zealand Navy League, Mrs J. Sutherland Ross sent a letter of sympathy to Her Majesty the Queen when the King became ill. In reply, she has just received, by air mail, the following letter— “ Buckingham Palace, Dec. 30, 1943. “ Dear Madam, “ I am commanded to ask you to express to the women members of the Dominion Navy League the sincere thanks of the King, together with those of the Queen, for the kind message of sympathy in His Majesty’s illness. "Yours sincerely, “ (Signed) Edward Ford.”
