DUTCH MIGRANTS FOR NEW ZEALAND

PERTH, Jan. 14. The liner Volendam reached Fremantle with the first Dutch migrants in a body. Of the ship's 1552 passengers there are 645 Dutch for Australia and 86 for New Zealand. The Dutch migrants are in three classes—assisted returned servicemen, servicemen returning here with their Australian wives, and agricultural workers sent by the Netherlands Immigration Foundation. The Volendam also brings 159 British migrants for Australia and New Zealand and 500 displaced persons from Germany and Austria under the auspices of the International Refugees’ Organisation.
