RAIN NEEDED
OTUREHUA AND MANIOTOTO DISTRICTS Rain is urgently needed in the Oturehua and Maniototo districts. Only 0.77 in was recorded in Oturehua for December, and less in Maniototo. As a result, the feed situation for livestock is in a serious position in both of these areas. Tlie total rainfall for 1948 in Oturehua was 17.60 in. This was the lightest fall for 32 years with the exception of 1941, when i6.7Bin fell. The wettest month of the year was November, with 3.10 in.
