Clare Memorial at Omakau WIN FOR FAITES VOS JEUX Special Reporter OMAKAU, Jan. 14. The Vincent Jockey Club’s meeting was opened to-day in brilliant weather, and there was a large attendance. The track was in splendid order, being fast, with a nice sole of grass to prevent jarring. Scratchings left a field of nine for the Clare Memorial Handicap, and in a fine race home Bobby Dazzler just got there to make his record four wins on end. His owner, Mr A. J. Brown, won the race previously with Kohara. 1 There were only four starters in the Omakau Handicap, and Faites vos Jeux won decisively from Verdant. Bath Slipper was left at the post. In the small field of three that went to the post for the Moran Memorial Handicap, Sea Flower' was made favourite, but Douglas Haig won by a wide margin, finishing very strongly from the top of the straight. The totalisator handled £ 11,555 against £11,221 last year.

Bobby Dazzler hung on to win by a head from Turora, with Kosher and Zarcon dead-heating for third place half a head away. Anzora, Paper View and Front Page were next. Our Flicka Unlucky Sporty Boy won the Vincent Stakes, but Our Flicka, who finished second, was unlucky, as she lost almost 48 yards at the start. Counterpart was four lengths back third, with Jingle's Pride fourth, and Pretty Dillon and Olga Dale next.
