Eight Calves In Four Years

The extremely rare event in the animal world of the birth of triplets to a Friesian cow, as recorded in a recent Issue of the Daily Times, is rivalled by the record of a five-year-old Jersey-Holstein cross cow owned by Mr D. Robson, of Ardgowan, Oaraaru. In 1945 this cow gave birth to a calf, and in 1946 she had twins, the following year triplets, and this season another set of twins, or eight calves In four years. All the progeny have survived.
