The Turk To Contest High-weight at Gore
Special to the Daily Times INVERCARGILL. Oct. 21. After a week of wintry weather, with a lot of rain, the prospects-are not bright for the opening of the Gore Racing Club’s spring meeting on Saturday. Unless there is a marked improvement in the weather the sting will be out of the track, but it is unlikely to cut up to any extent The Benlo Handicap has been drawn in two divisions and there is little chance of it being a straight-out contest. The Turk will start in the Wendon High-weight and not the Kaiwera Handicap. The form horses include:—
11.15: Benio Handicap.—First division: Mount Barker, Surd, Zintui. Second division: Wint, Fluorescent Light, Red Money. 12.0: Wendon High-weight Handicap.— The Turk, Gunther, Knight Crusader. 12.45: Knapdale Trot.—First Lord. Amarant, Landlight. • 1.30: Members’ Handicap.—Salmon Spear, Sal's Pal, Loyal Lady. 2.15: Otaraia Handicap.—Sir Abbot. Shadamai. Orthodox. . . _ 3.0: Flying Handicap.—The Hob, Full Plav. Sterling Lad. 3.45: Waikala Trot.—Keymaster, Aspasia, gundi, Cricket Field, Bragden. Brackets are:—Benio Handicap: Chief - tainess and Wint, St. Leonard and Court Slipper.
