Attractive Air Is Promising Filly
The Mosgiel owner, Mr D, W. Brown, in no way related to Mr A. J. Brown, who races Bobby Dazzler, will have Attractive Air and Speedy racing for him at Gore. Attractive Air is a speedy three-year-old bay filly by Airway from Attractive Note, a half-sister to Lord Nuffield and The Joker, and as she begins well the course at Gore should suit her. Speedy is a six-year-old mare by Irish Lancer from Attractive Lady, the dam of Attractive Note. Last season Speedy was started 10 times for two wins and three placings. Attractive Air and Speedy are a useful pair, and they should pay their way during the season. Answer to Correspondent “ Ten Bob,” Mosgiel.—You are confusing the two horses. Jottings , Handicaps for the Winton meeting are due on Wednesday. Igiri has not yet struck form, and his immediate prospects do not appear .to be bright. The Rhodes Scholar gelding Top Class is a more than useful sort by F. Trilford’s stable, and may get a stake during the week-end.
Working Well Military Chief, one of the Riccarton candidates for the Trial Stakes at Trentham, has not been raced since the Grand National meeting, but he has been working well. The Royal Chief gelding Is a smart galloper. A Full Hand

The Paper Slipper horse Douglas Haig was raced nine times last season for two win s and a second placing. His best performance was in the Oamaru Winter Cup, which he won from Clyde Bridge and Thornbridge in a field of 17. He is engaged In the Flying Handicap at Gore, but he would probably be more at home over more ground.
