Foxchase May Be Best of Strong Field In National Hurdles

The Grand National meeting will be continued at Riccarton to-morrow, when the principal events to be decided are the Grand National Hurdles, the Beaufort Steeplechase, and the Islington Handicap. The field for the National Hurdles is a splendid one and at least half-a-dozen of the runners will be solidly supported. With Foxchase, Boolamskee, Desert Trek, and Grand Coulee to represent them, Wingatui stables have good prospects of bringing home a portion of the £2500 stake. Horses likely to be among the favourites to-morrow are:— 10.32: Aylesbury Handicap.—First Division: Profane, Pierre, Golden Air. Second Division: Resolute, Confidence Trick, Eulogise. 11.22: Sumner Handicap.—First Division: Super, Battle Strife, Mr Buzz. Second Division: The Grate, Ballochbuie, Deficiency 12.7 : Beaufort Steeples.—High Morale, Troytown, First Out. 12.52: Woolston Handicap.—First Division: Baccarat, Idle Jest, Beaugency. Second Division: St. Bruno, Extra Flight, Money Lender. 1.42: Grand National Hurdle Race.—Foxchase, Corineus, Boolamskee, Skywriter. 2.27: Spreydon Hurdle Handicap.—Grand Coulee, Bridgehead. Foreign Ways.' 3.12: Islington Handicap.—Ballinagh, Royal Tan, Graeme. 3.57: August Handicap.—Distinction, Leigh Barton, Julius Caesar.
