Miss Friis, who completed her nulling training at the Palmerston Nortn Hospital in 1932, has been engaged m various nursing capacities since that time For a period she was matron of the Children’s Nursery in Wellington and also assisted as home sister in the Wellington Nurses’ Home. Miss Friis has always been interested in the work, of the Presbyterian Church and closely connected with its youth organisations. Since entering the profession of nursing she has been very intimately connected with the Nurses’ Christian Union, holding several executive positions, and at the present time is president of the Dunedin branch.
