“THE NEW MORALITY ”
Harold Chapin’s " The New Morality,” to be presented by the Oamaru Little Theatre Society in the Opera House on Thursday and Friday, had the distinction of inclusion in the famous volume of Great Modern British Plays. The editors speak of it as an exquisite comedy. Chapin writes with more than a touch of satire, and extracts great amusement from the foibles of his comfortable upper middle-class character. The plot deals with the genesis of what might have become a celebrated society law suit, when one lady forgets all restraint and tells another in good round terms exactly what she thinks of her. The real sufferers are the husbands, whose efforts to settle the affair, while still remaining loyal to their wives, are diverting. The cast Is an accomplished one, and the production promises to provide an entertaining evening.
