DISTINCTION IN FINE FORM
EARLY SUCCESS INDICATED In his present form Distinction should lead a field home before long. In the Winter Cup he was never far away, and he came home solidly to finish second. A stablemate of Howe, Distinction is a four-year-old by Foxbridge from Arawa Rose, by Musketoon from Wee Rose, by Wairiki from Miss Rose, by Dreadnought from Miss Letty, by St. Leger from Necklace, by Musket. Included in Distinction’s three wins last season was the Hawke’s Bay Guineas, • the place-getters being Sweet Nymph and Liebestraum, and he was placed in 12 of his 16 starts, 11 times in succession. His placings included a second to Liebestraum in the New Zealand Derby, in which he finished strongly to get within half a head of the winner. A journey will be no trouble to Distinction and he should be prominent in some of the season’s rich handicaps.
