WRONG SUBJECT
MEETING ON TRAM FARES At least one of the 21 persons who attended a meeting in the George Street School Hall last evening must have dene so as the result of the appearance in the Daily Times yesterday of an advertisement in which all interested in increases in tram fares were urged by the Otago Trades Council to hear Wfr M. Silverstone discuss the matter , , , , Actually, Mr Silverstone devoted two hours to an entirely different topic •and when a question was asked about tram fares, the chairman, Mr D. Copland, replied that this subject did not come within the compass of Mr Sil-. verstone’s address. The misunderstanding was cleared up when an official informed the chairman of the nature of the advertisement which had appeared, and Mr Silverstone obliged by briefly presenting his views on the subject of tram fares
