SUMMER RESORTS ALREADY ALMOST FULLY BOOKED
Winter is far from over, but already people, throughout New Zealand are thinking ahead and planning summer holidays lazing in the sun, swimming, fishing, boating and generally relaxing. Those who wait until the ice melts and the winter rains are over will be months too late if they have any intention of visiting popular tourist' resorts and staying at hostels or in motor camps. “Every place in the country which has any pretensions to being a worthwhile holiday spot will be crowded out this coming summer,” said the manager of the Dunedin branch of the Tourist Department, Mr
R. G. Sincock, yesterday. In most instances accommodation at places such as Queenstown, the Hermitage, Wanaka and Hanmer Springs was already fully booked, and - latecomers would-have little chance of obtaining bookings. Beach cottages, too. will be at a premium during the summer months. A land agent told the Daily Times yesterday that comparatively few were likely to be offered for rental purposes. This had been the case for the past few summers partly because many sue! cottages were in use as ali-the-year round dwellings, and partly because there were frequently standing arrangements made for summer homes to be let to the same people every .year.
