CARPENTRY TRAINING

At the present time 50 men are being taught the carpentry trade in Oairtaiu. The first school will finish in September, 1948, the second in January, 1949, the third in May, 1949, and the fourth in September, 1949. All the men are working on State houses in Oamaru and are doing excellent work under competent instructors. They have 22 units in hand at present.
