WAR MEMORIAL

STEADY RESPONSE HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS “ Collection of funds for the War Memorial Library has continued throughout the year, and although the amount realised is still far short of the required total, it is hoped to swell this total considerably during the coming anniversary celebrations,” said the president, Mr W. Lang, at the annual meeting of the Otago High School Old Boys’ Society last night. Mr Lang added that old boys in other parts of the world had responded more readily than those in the Dunedin district.

The arrangements for the eightyfifth anniversary were briefly outlined by the president, and he asked that all old boys give their support. Reference was also made to the retiremetn of Mr H. P. Kidson, and a welcome was extended to the new rector, Mr- E. J. Aim. The election of office-bearers resulted:—President, Mr J. A. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs G. A. Douglas and A. K. Ibbotson; treasurer, Mr 'W. J. Mclnnes; committee—Messrs M. L. Bellugue, W. E. Mac Lean, W. A. Watters, D. S. St. John. C. J. Martin, S. R White, R. Fraser, D. Leslie, J. L. Turnbull, E. P.
