CASTAWAYS RESCUED

VESSEL SINKS OFF FLINDERS ISLAND BRISBANE, July 12. The coastal, freighter Wandana has rescued from' the shores of remote Flinders Island, 300 miles north of Cairns, the eight survivors of the 50ton motor vessel Lochiel. which sank nearby on Saturday.
