WINTER SHOW DISPLAY

OF DIVERSIFIED APPEAL Both country and town people are finding much of interest in the attractive display arranged by Reid and Gray, Ltd., at the Centennial Winter Show. It is fitting that both agriculture and industry should be closely associated in a province such as Otago and in serving these two sections of the community Reid and Gray, Ltd., have been able to infuse a more than normal universal appeal into their interesting display.

In their agriculture section focal point of interest centres on the new Silver Pattern Tandem Disc Harrow—a new and worthy companion to the famous Reid and Gray Silver Plough. Designed and built at the firm’s Burnside Works, it is a further outstanding example of Reid and Gray, Ltd.’s, enterprise and sound cratfsmanship in the field of first-class agricultural implements. The famous Silver Plough is also on display, and a great deal of interest is being shown in the new British Bamford power-driven field mower on pneumatic tyres and driven from power take-off of tractor. Another exhibit of interest to farmers is the Bamford Combined Swath Turner, Tedder and Side Delivery Rake. It is an oil bath machine, and is for horse or tractor haulage. .This is the first time these machines have been available since the outbreak of war, and Reid and Gray, Ltd,, are now taking advance orders.

The Bower Wheel display is also arousing considerable attention among tractor owners. .The exhibit demonstrates the simplicity with which this attachment can be fitted, to tractor wheels to give positive grip and traction under muddy and slippery conditions as well as on steep ground. The industrial section of the display draws attention to Electric Generating Stand-by Power Plants in . a cleverly-designed exhibit, and the, information that models from. 40 to . 100 kilowatts are available for immediate delivery is exceptionally topical at the present time. A Lister Marine Diesel Engine of 21 h.p. is also featured—here again the news that this ana larger horse-power models are available for immediate delivery has further proved that Britain and Reid and Gray, Ltd., can deliver the goods.

The Aga Heat Storage Codker is also proving a centre of interest, and many a covetous glance is given at this gleaming example of.the last word m cooking and heating efficiency. To sum up the display, it can be said that Reid and Gray, Ltd., have happily combined the interests of town and country in an exhibit that merits a “ second look ” by every visitor to the Show. —P.B.A.
