TUG-OF-WAR CONTEST

Sir,—ln regard to the tug-of-war contest now being conducted jin the Town Hall, I would like to question why the draw was conducted in such a manner last Saturday evening. The names of Dunedin No. 1, Hillbillies. Dunedin No. 2, Sparrows, Spredon and I.C.C. teams were written down and the six pther team names drawn out of a hat, and in turn written opposite those already down. Glenavy got the bye. Good luck to them, but in the opinion of true sportsmen 13 names, not seven, should have been in that hat, and therefore all been entitled to the luck of the bye, which is, after all, one pull less and a big step nearer the money. True sportsmanship should go all the way—l am, etc.. Anchor. [This letter was referred to the Promoter. Mr J. Brown, who stated he did not wish to make any comment. —Ed. 0.D.T.l
