CENTENNIAL DOG SHOW
Judging in the Dunedin Fanciers Club centennial dog shoW, run in conjunction with the Winter Show, was completed or. Saturday night. The award of the best dog in the show went to Mr J. Lightfoot's cocker spaniel, Glendale Orange Flare, which was entered in the sportir. cocker spaniels (other than black). This fine specimen also won the prize for the best cocker, while the award for the best opposite sex was gained by Mr M. Collins’s Lady Filene of Glenadlnr’ the sporting class for springer spaniels, the best entry was Mr A. J. White’s Tony, while the best Irish setter was Mrs H. A. Prebble’s Shamus of Bally - garth. The only sporting Dachshund entered was Miss L. G. Larcombe s Kenside Stamp of Beale, which was awarded a challenge prize. Outstanding exhibits in the section for golcen retrievers were Mr W S. Scott’s Flash of Kaikorai and Mr W. Bunting's Gold Jewel of Waikaia. The best sporting retriever was Mr A. E. Stark’s Mack. The successful dog in the Labradors section was Cashmere Ratu. exhibited bv Mrs N. Harvey, while the award for the best opposite sex went to Mr W. H. Pay’s Ythan Betty. The best pointer wa3 Mrs W. Smith’s Nita Lass. In the section for cocker spaniels (black), Mr J. Lightfoot’s Glendale Mist was the principal winner, this dog being outstanding. Awards in the cocker spaniels (other than' black) went to Mr R. B. Mason’s Snowy of Braedene, Mr R. J. L. Griffiths’s Donix Gambler, and Miss V. Algie’s Lucky Seaman. Mr J. Lightfoot’s cocker, Glendale Orange Flare, won the Sporting Stakes and the Spaniel Stakes. Winners in the various classes of the Puppy Stakes were Mr R B. Mason’s cocker. Snowy of Braedene, Mr and Mrs S. D. Stewart's Irish setter. Red Branch Talisman, and Mr E. A. Hopkins’s smooth Fox Terrier, Bromley Biffe, which was adjudged the best dog. Mr J. Lightfoot’s cocker spaniel, Glendale Mist, won the Novice Dog Stakes. Other winners of stakes were Mrs S. F. Storey’s Beecroft Beregina, Mr R, B. Mason’s Duchess of Braedene, Mr J. Dawson’s Sympathy of Norclen, Mrs E. L. McDonald’s Ch’um Chu of Stamun, and Mrs G. G. Phillips’s Lochleven Lady Joyce.
