HOGAN’S SECOND TITLE

AMERICAN PROFESSIONAL GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP Rec. 3 p.m. NEW YORK, May 26. Ben Hogan beat Mike Turnesa, 7 and 6, at St. Louis to-day to win his second American Professional Golf Championship. Hogan proved too efficient and consistent for Turnesa. Hogan, who won the title in 1946, hit a winning streak on the second nine holes and reached the halfway mark 4 up. Hogan registered 65 for the morning round and scored many birdies in the afternoon, winning the last three holes in succession. The victory, which brings Hogan 3500 dollars, places him second among the year’s money winners with 13,897 dollars.
