NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN
The following office-bearers were elected at the annual meeting of the Oamaru branch of the National Council or Women:—President, Miss Lindsay; vicepresidents, Mrs Woodgate and Miss Copland; secretary, Miss Pattle; treasurer. Miss Marwick. Miss Lindsay, who was in the chair, stressed the fact that the council was not another women’s organisation, but rather a federation of all the organisations already existing. Delegates decided to ask their organisations to make and contribute Chinese garments to help the distressed children q£ China.
