ANOTHER BIG SCORE

AUSTRALIANS AT -LORD’S

M.C.C.’s EARLY LOSSES LONDON, May 24.

Rain in London yesterday dampened the wicket at Lord’s for the resumption of play in the cricket match, Australia against the M.C.C. The wicket had lost its sting when Miller and Johnson went in to bat and the M.C.C. bowlers left a not-too-easy wicket for later on.

Miller was first to go this morning, the New Zealander, M. P. Donnelly, taking a brilliant catch in the outfield. Johnson followed later leg before to Laker.

Lindwall had a merry time for his 29 not out, hitting three sixes

off Laker in one over. McCool's stay was short. He was caught first ball by Edrich off Laker. MG.C. opened its innings about half an hour before lunch. Hutton batted cautiously. Robertson was caught off a high bumper from Miller, who had resumed bowling after a single opening over. In the last over before lunch, Edrich snicked a ball from Miller for wicket-keeper Tallon to take another splendid catch.
