REAL ESTATE

At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (Otago branch) Mr L. A. Rhodes presided over a good attendance of members.

Pleasure was expressed that the initiative taken by the institute to have a metropolitan town planning scheme adopted for the Dunedin area had been supported by various organisations, and that as the result of a deputation to the Citv Council a meeting of all interested bodies would be held in June. It was reported that Mr H. L. Paterson had agreed to a request from the Southland branch of the institute to address their members on this subject of town planning. Advice was received from the secretary of the institute in Auckland that the Government had requested the institute to put forward suggestions for consideration bv the Government in connection with the consolidation and amendment of existing fair rents legislation. It was decided to convene a meeting of members for June 14 to consider this matter.
