ABOLITION OF LORDS

NOW CONSIDERED UNWISE LONDON, May 21. Mr Herbert Morrison, speaking at the Labour Party Conference on the suggestion that the House of Lords be abolished, said the Government had come to the conclusion that it would not be wise to abolish the second chamber. “ I am quite convinced, after three years' experience as leader of the House of Commons, that two chambers are more effective and more expeditious than one,” said Mr Morrison.
