BUS SHELTER
ERECTION AT WAVERLEY PENINSULA COUNTY COUNCIL The Peninsula County Council at its monthly meeting yesterday approved a proposal for the erection of a temporary shelter in Beach street, Waverley, for waiting bus passengers, particularly children. The structure is to be erected by Waverley residents, at their own cost, and will remain at the pleasure of the council. It was decided to postpone carrying out work in High street, Macandrew Bay, until funds are available. The council’s consulting engineers, Messrs Fletcher, Roberts, Duffill and King, wrote stating that the Main Highways Board had made a request that the council should renew its application for the reconstruction and tar-sealing of the main road at Tomahawk at the end of July. In the mean time, the plans and specifications were to be gone on with. —Received. Accounts amounting to £llß9 12s 6d were passed for payment. There were present at the meeting— Messrs T. S. Edmonds (chairman), J. S. Nelson, O. Macfie, D. Simon, J. Jensen, I. Botting, M. Geary and R. W. Aitken.
