FAULTROSA AN IMPROVER
The South Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting will be concluded to-morrow, and the club will present a splendid card to its patrons. With the inclusion of a number of fresh horses the fields, almost without exception, are stronger than they were last Saturday, and the racing should be interesting throughout. In the South Canterbury Handicap Mestiza can claim a 71b allowance if D. F. Coombe has the mount again, which would make her weight 7.6. The probability is that the place-getters in the principal event last Saturday—Mestiza, Falconbridge, and Grill —will find most favour with the public. The following may be among the favourites: — 11.0 ': Pukaki Hurdles.— Big Top, Pedantic, Foreign Ways. 11.40: Southburn Hack Handicap. —Faultrosa, Our Style, Bonny Royal. 12.25: Wai-iti Trot. —Whipster, Victory Globe, Piquant. 1.10: South Canterbury Handicap. —Mestiza, Falconbridge, Grill. 1.50: Craigmore Steeples. —Lisheen, San Quentin, Debater. 2.35: Fairlie Handicap. —Connaught, Deep Harmony, Theocritus. 3.20: Winchester Trot. —Wayfarer, Farnborough, Glenrowan. 4. 5: Temuka Handicap.— The Grate, Detract, Loch Lennox.
