HANOVER STREET BAPTIST CHURCH The church roll showed a definite increase for the year, now totalling 359, said Mr G. M. lviegget in his report to the annual meeting of members of the nanover Street Baptist Church, over which the Rev. E. W. Batts presided. Mr Meggett paid a tribute to the ministry of Mr Batts, and commen f ed upon the growth of all organisations connected with the churcn, particularly the youth' movement. During the year the Hanover Street Church nad accepted responsibility for the oversight of the Green Island Church. Regular pulpit supplies had been arranged and district visitation had begun, he said. The following officers were elected: Secretary, Mr G. M. Megget; treasurer, Mr C. S. Hercus; auditors, Messrs F. B. Adams and C. S. D. Aitcheson; choirmaster, Mr G. F. Austin; organist. Miss G. Syder; elders’ court—Messrs F. B. Adams, C. L. Cook. H. P. Desmoulins, W. A. H. Drew, G. Hendry, P. U. Harvey, S. C. Hercus, I. J. Strang, J. Swan, and Dr C. E. North; deacons’ court—Messrs G. Brasier, J. C. Cooper, D. Donaldson, F. Gillies, I. R. McAllum, D. N. McPherson, A. Maxwell, M. Poulter, J. Russell, and L. R. Hercus; Sunday school superintendent, Mr O. Stott; delegates to Otago Baptist Auxiliary, Messrs D. N. McPherson and J. Russell.
