NEW TYPE OF TOTALISATOR

An English inventor is reported to be perfecting a new type of totalisator which, it is claimed, will revolutionise betting. The machine is designed to issue tickets stamped with the time at which the investment is'made, and winning tickets will be paid at the odds shown on the indicator at the time recorded. The idea is that, an investor will know the return he can expect for his outlay. It will no doubt be possible to perfect such a machine, but not so easv to get it adopted. It might happen that there is insufficient money in the pool to redeem a big bet made early.
