RABBIT SKIN SALE ANOTHER SHARP RISE The Dunedin Stock Agents and Wool Brokers’ Association (Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., Stronach. Morris and Co., Ltd., New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd.. Otago Fanners’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., and National Mortgage and Agency Company, Ltd.) reports that at the fortnightly rabbitskin sale held yesterday approximately 73 tons were submitted to a full bench of buyers. The demand for all grades of skins was exceptionally good and the competition was spread amongst all buyers. Values again appreciated and prices over all showed a considerable rise on the values prevailing at the sale held a fortnight ago There was a good proportion of trappers' skins on offer and included in the catalogues was a percentage of early winter skins which met with very good competition. On the average incoming and early winter skins increased in value by 18d per lb. All grades of autumn skins appreciated from 12d to 15d a lb. whilst other grades were firmer from 12d to 22d per lb. There were a few parcels of good ferret skins on offer, and these also met with good competition and brought higher rates than have prevailed previously. Stoat skins were also keenly inquired for.
