DIVIDEND INCREASED

P.A. AUCKLAND, May 18. On the basis of current claims against the Government. Taupiri Coal Mines, Ltd., report a net profit of £26,013 for the year ended March 31. This result, which is reached after allowance for depreciation and taxation provision, is an increase of £5402 over that of the previous year. The directors point out in their report that a settlement with the Government has not been reached with regard to the amount of income payable under the Waikato coal mines control regulations either for the previous year or for the year under review. The ordinary dividend for the year is raised from 12J per cent. -to 17J per cent., with a final distribution of 2s 3d a share. The usual preference dividend of 6 2-5 per cent., absorbing £I2BO, will be paid. The total dividend requirements are £24,030, leaving £1983 to increase undivided profits to £25,271.
