New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd.—Tfte accounts of New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., for the year ended March 31 show a net profit of £55,691, compared with £55,357 in 1947 and £47,042 'in 1946. Dividends, maintained at 8 per cent, for the year, absorb £39,833, and £53,547 is carried forward, against £37,689 brought in after the transfer of £20,000 to reserve fund from the previous year’s undivided profits. The company’s general reserves are listed at £170,000. The balance sheet total at £894,342 is an increase of £24,991. National Trading Company.—Net profit of the National Trading Company of New Zealand, Ltd., for the year ended January 31 was £22,920, against £24,582 in the previous year. The result is reached after allowing £32,472 for taxes, compared with £32,895. Dividend is again 6 per cent., absorbing £9358, and £14,585 is transferred to reserve, leaving an unchanged amount of £9358 to be carried forward after allowing for a capital profit on property of £1268 and the writing oft of £245 goodwill on a business. Tooth’s Brewery.—Tooth and Co., Ltd., Sydney, brewers, have declared an interim dividend at the rate of 14 per cent, per annum, payable on May 27. Total distribution last year was increased to 13i per cent, from 13 per cent, the previous year. Grey River Dredging.—The directors of the Grey River Dredging Company, Ltd., have declared a dividend of 4d a share
