PERSONAL

The Mayor, Mr Cameron, left yesterday for the Portage, Marlborough Sounds, to attend a meeting of the South Island Local Bodies' Association. He will not return to the city for a fortnight, as he will spend a holiday there and at Mount Cook and Timaru. The members of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce stood in silence at the meeting yesterday as a mark of respect to the late Mr G. L. Lothian, the manager of A. and T. Inglis, Ltd., who died last Saturday. Mr W. J. Sinton, manager of Begg s Celebrity Artists Company, left for Auckland yesterday. Mr Sinton will meet the British singers, Anne Ziegler and Webster Booth, and will complete arrangements for their New Zealand tour.
