BRITAIN’S ASSISTANCE NOT REQUIRED

CAIRO, May 17. Egypt would not ask Britain for help in Palestine as an ally under the AngloEgyptian treaty, said the Public Works Minister, Ibrahim Saleh Pasha. Asked whether Egypt would invoke Article Six of the treaty, which provides that if either party is engaged in hostilities the other will come to its aid, he said: “There is no need for that, as we have not declared war on anybody.” He added that Egypt had to send an army to Palestine to end the terrorist activities.
