RUGBY FOOTBALL

A letter was received at the weekly meeting erf the North Otago Rugby Union from Messrs J. B. Westray and Company (Lloyds of London representatives), Wanganui, giving details of an insurance scheme operated by the company. The letter stated that the premiums were £4 per year per senior team, with the following benefits.—Death by accident £3OO, total loss of sight £3OO, total loss of one eye £l5O. total loss of two limbs £3OO, total loss of one limb £l5O, temporary total disablement, excluding the first week. £1 10s. In addition £1 per team covered players when travelling to artd from matches under the jurisdiction of the union. Lower grades were at a lower benefit and premium basis. A condition of the cover was that it was a blanket one, and all teams of the union must enter into the scheme. It was decided to write to Wanganui for further details.
