Representative Games

At the weekly meeting of the North Otago Rugby Union on Monday night it was decided to write to the Poverty Bay Union asking if a game could be arranged with its touring team when on return from Soutlland. It was also decided to write to the ' Southland Union asking for a game with its touring team when on its northward journey. It was agreed to inquire from the Otago Union if it would be favourable to its Ranfurly Shield team playing North Otago at Oamaru prior to the match with South Canterbury. Mr Loder, who made the suggestion, said the North Otago Union would prefer this match to a game against Dunedin Sub-unions. Mr D. S. Loder was in the chair, and there were also present—Messrs H. Cross, A. R. Low, R. L. Brown, W. Budd, F. E. Arscott, R. Allan, J. Firman, W. Berry, and H. Strachan. The Waitakl Electric Power Board advised that because of power restrictions the lights at Takaro Park could be only used on one night a week.—Referred to clubs to submit the most suitable night on which the lights were required. Mr Strachan reported that he had received complaints on Saturday in respect to jerseys not being numbered In the senior grade, and it was decided to advise clubs that they were required to have the numbers on the jerseys for programme purposes On the motion of Mr Brown it was decided to play four rounds in the Citizens’ Shield competition, and if necessary, to incorporate the first round of the Mollison Cup competition in the final round of the Citizens’ Shield competition. Mr Brown was appointed coach of the North Otago representative teams. Draw for Saturday Seniors.—Excelsior v. Athletic, Oval, 2.45 p.m.; Maheno v.
