EXPELLED FROM PARTY

MR ALFRED • EDWARDS Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON. May 16. The National Executive of the Labour Party expelled from the partw Mr Alfred Edwards, M.P. for Middlesborough, who recently criticised the Government’s proposed methods of nationalising the steel industry. Mr Edwards, referring to his expulsion, said he did not intend to appeal. “ If wild men want to have their way I am glad to be out. It seems that there is no place for businessmen in the Labour Party. I shall continue as an independent member.”
