HOMING PIGEONS
FINAL RACES FOR SEASON
The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew its final races for the season on Saturday. From Ashburton, the winning bird flew the 150 miles in 2hr 49min at a velocity of 1551 yards per minute. Results:—M. Anderson’s Black Bess 1, L. Conroy’s Pencil Blue 2, P. Paterson’s Sky light 3, H. Millard’s Park Major 4, A. Frasers Prince George 5. In a race from Christchurch the winning bird flew the 200 miles in 3hr 49min at a velocity of 1472 yards per minute. Results:—P. Paterson’s Last Light 1,, T. Douglas’s Pitcairn 2. A. Fraser’s Regal Prince 3, P. Rule’s First In 4, M. Anderson’s Hillman Junior 5.
