MEAT SCHEDULES

AN IMMEDIATE INCREASE P.A. WELLINGTON, May 15. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board advises that the meat schedules for the South Island will be increased from Monday, the 17th, as under: Lamb, £d per lb; wethers, id per lb; and ewes, Id per lb. This will make the top schedules: Lamb, 12Jd; wethers, B|a; ewes, s|d. The increases are accounted for by the wool growth and wool value. The board also states that the shorn lamb deductions on the present 12? d schedule are:—

Up to 111 b wool, 2d per lb on carcass weight; over lllb to ljlb, 13d; lAlb to lflb, Ifd; 131 bto 21b, lgd; 21b to 231 b, lid; 2Jlb to 2ilb, lgd; 2Jlb to 231 b, Id; 2Jlb to 31b, id; 31b to 331 b, fd. These deductions will be increased by id per lb on the same pullings for each further rise in the schedule of that amount consequent on the increased wool growth.
