FINISH LACKING
GAME AT BISHOPSCOURT A lack of finish, principally among the backs, resulted in rather scrappy. play in the match at Bishopscourt in which Zingari-Richmond defeated Kaikorai by 9 points to nil. The forward play was solid, however, with the Colours showing characteristic enterprise and Kaikorai giving an improved display in the set scrums. There were no shirkers in the Zingari pack. N. Wilson, C. Garden and S. Dowland showed out in the tight, as did W. Brown and A. E. Hellyer in the loose. The team’s weakness again lay in the back line. The full-back, R. Orr, was sound on defence, and A. Saul, on the wing, showed glimpses of his old form.
The hill team’s improvement in the tight was largely due to the efforts of A. J. Murray and L. Marks. R. McMeeking and J. McGill were prominent in the loose.
Zingari’s score comprised a field goal by L. Watson, a penalty goal by R. Orr and a try by A. E. Hellver. The referee was Mr R. Carter.
