LORD DUKESTON DEAD

LONDON, May 14

The death occurred of Lord Dukeston, a one-time navvy and foi'mer president of the Trades Union Council, aged 67. Lord Dukeston, formerly Charles Dukes, was created a peer on January 1, 1947. Born at Stourbridge, he worked at his father’s forge and later as a navvy. He was for many years secretary of the General Workers’ Union.
